The RHLI, along with some Staff and Candidates from the The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Of Canada, The Lincoln and Welland Regiment and the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada recently conducted the DP 2A, Platoon Support Weapons Course in both Hamilton and ATC Meaford from Oct 03 to Mar 04.

The course covers the 9mm Service Pistol, C6 in the Sustain Fire Role, and Small Arms Coaching. The staff also had the opportunity to deal with weekend cancellations, weather problems, power outages, and various other hiccups along the way.

Over all, the Staff and Students found the course quite different from it’s predecessor, the TQ 4 Machine Gun course as it covered more technical aspects to weapons, namely the coaching of C7 and C9 firers.

Also a very grateful thanks to 1st Hussars, especially the CO, LCol Thompson and the Ops WO, WO Legge for giving some of our candidates the opportunity to call in Direct Fire from their Cougar's 76mm gun!
