150th NEW YEAR'S EVE LIGHT INFANTRY BALL A HIT!

It began with a meal fit for a gala, centred 'round a magnificent Beef Wellington, and ended with a champagne toast to the start of our 150th. In between was some wonderful music from the rightly-famed RHLI Dance Band, terrific vocals from rising star Emma Greve, dancing to old standards, and of course the Grande March which kicked off the dancing – something not likely seen or performed in Hamilton for more than a century.

The deluxe Crowne Plaza hotel glittered with the more than 100 guests, all in best bib and tucker and the red of infantry mess kit (and the Royal Canadian Navy!), again something not likely seen there in decades. The cocktail reception prior to the dinner allowed great socializing and getting caught up with old friends and new, and the countdown to midnight and the toast to the 150th capped the evening nicely!

Planning continues for the remainder of the 150th events – remember to check www.rhli.ca for continuing updates!
